  • + 1°C: What difference does it make

    Educational > Science

This new exhibition takes a scientific approach to answering several common questions about one of the 21st century’s key issues: climate change. What will happen if temperatures rise by 1°C? How can we anticipate what temperatures will be a hundred years from now? It’s cold today, so why are we talking about global warming? Scientists answer these questions through life-sized video presentations and demystify concepts that are often complex but essential for a clearer understanding of the phenomenon. The “Magic Planet”, measuring 1.2 m in height and the only such interactive digital Earth globe in Quebec, is the centrepiece of one of the exhibition’s five stations. Through satellite imagery, this globe allows visitors to observe natural, meteorological and climatic phenomena such as ocean currents and hurricanes. This impressive sphere will also enable you to learn more through a selection of available multimedia presentations.
